COYA Abu Dhabi, the immersive Peruvian lifestyle experience, is delighted to showcase a vibrant, colourful and intriguing new exhibition by British artist Dan Baldwin.
A renowned painter, printmaker and ceramicist, Dan Baldwin’s ‘Fragmented Landscapes’ collection presents a unique blend of reality and imagination. Fusing abstract and figurative elements and a broad range of multimedia techniques, his exhibition at COYA Abu Dhabi explores a plethora of themes, spanning everything from love to memory, and philosophy to politics.
Currently at the forefront of the UK’s Young British Artist movement, Dan Baldwin brings a bold and revolutionary attitude that is similar to Banksy, Tracey Emin and The Chapman Brothers. Specialising in his own unique brand of ‘Psychological Landscape’ art, his work is often described as haunting, engaging and beautiful.
Forming part of COYA’s ongoing collaboration with Belvedere Art Space Dubai, ‘Fragmented Landscapes’ will be shown on the walls of COYA Abu Dhabi from June until August, 2023.
Created to enhance the art and design pillar of COYA’s distinctive DNA, the collaboration sees both COYA Abu Dhabi and COYA Dubai exhibit a different artist from Belvedere Art Space every quarter. Guests are invited to admire and appreciate the artworks whilst they dine and relax within COYA’s lively signature ambiance and purchase any pieces that intrigue them directly from Belvedere Art Space Dubai.
Located in DIFC, in the heart of Dubai, Belvedere Art Space is a contemporary art gallery that represents both emerging and established artists from across the globe. Its diverse collection spans an array of different mediums and memorable talents, and it remains committed to empowering and nurturing the MENA region’s prospering art scene. Founded by interior designers and art consultants Aal Chammaa and Nour Jarmakani, the original Belvedere Art Space was launched in Beirut, Lebanon, in 2018, before the brand expanded to open Belvedere Art Space Dubai in 2021.
The new exhibition by Dan Baldwin is COYA Abu Dhabi’s second featured collection from Belvedere Art Space. The Al Maryah Island restaurant began the collaboration by displaying a painting series from experimental Lebanese artist Ryan Eid, while COYA Dubai started the partnership by exhibiting a thought-provoking exhibition from street artist Christopher Florentino.
Dan Baldwin, artist at Belvedere Art Space, said: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to display my works on the walls of the most beautiful, creative and free-spirited restaurant in the UAE capital, and put my paintings in front of a whole new audience. Spanning multiple planes and perspectives, vibrant colours and intriguing depictions, I hope my ‘Fragmented Landscapes’ collection adds an extra element of art and creativity to COYA’s award-winning Peruvian lifestyle experience. I’m so honoured to partner with such a world-renowned and exciting brand as COYA on this unique collaboration.”
