COYA Abu Dhabi Launches ‘Spirit Animals’, A Contemporary Art Exhibition Experience

WHAT COYA Abu Dhabi roars back into the art scene by launching a contemporary art exhibition experience Spirit Animals alongside leading and ambitious art gallery, N2N.

Purveyor of vibrant art, the Peruvian venue is set to host art maestro, Nina Murashkina, and her collection constituting artistic exploration of animals and their role in symbolism. Available to book, guests will be able to discover the artwork closely in a socially distanced manner while enjoying a delectable lunch service at the restaurant.

In her new painting series, the weight of the composition recalls on the animals: their central position in a colourful red or golden background, centres all the attention on their expression, colour, and movement. This imaginative space and forms where the action happens reminds of the Medieval Bestiaries, like the “Bestiarie d’amour”. There is a part of the eternal form of the symbol, but also a new, personal vision which brings these artworks to the core of the contemporary art world.

For me, it was an unexpected but interesting challenge to create a series of works with fantastic animals, almost without a human figure“, says Nina. “Each animal has its own mystical and allegorical meaning. A certain secret, a special secret code that can be read by each viewer in his own way.”

For instance, the ‘Black Cat’ is for the artist the keeper of the hearth and the home is represented with a funny and wise golden smile. The ‘Red Horse’, a horse disguised as a unicorn, is masculine by attitude but feminine in the delicate patterns and expression of the eyes.

However, it is the ‘Leopard Cat’ that deserves to be admired for its intricate details. The Cat is depicted as engrossed, posed with imperturbable calm and unbothered by the lips and strong golden waves of the troubled world in the background. With a look from a deep reality he tells us “don’t worry too much, life will go on as always, I have seen it many times” – an apt message for current times.

To ensure safety and comfort of the guests, additional safety measures have been added including staff who will be constantly wearing gloves and a mask, frequent sanitization of table surfaces, maintaining space between adjacent tables and limiting groups to four guests at a time.

Unidentified Phone Numbers Are Causing CX Problems For On-Demand Food Delivery Platforms

On-demand food delivery services have a customer support problem, according to a new study released by First Orion, a leading provider of communication transparency solutions. Half of the 2,000 survey respondents said the top reason for needing to connect with the delivery service’s customer support team was the late delivery of their food order. However, 62% had missed a call about issues with their delivery because they didn’t recognize the phone number calling, leading to dissatisfaction (more than 80%), not to mention hungry customers.

COYA Abu Dhabi Unveils A Chef’s Table Expereince For Abu Dhabi’s ‘Travel Through Food’ Event

WHAT With the launch of the Department of Culture and Tourism’s flagship Abu Dhabi Culinary Season event, ‘Travel Through Food’, COYA Abu Dhabi has unveiled a specially curated Chef’s Table experience.

‘Travel Through Food’ allows UAE’s residents to explore the various culinary delights available in the capital, including ‘Chef’s Table’ which are unique dining series of five exhilarating culinary experiences, each curated to showcase one-off, never seen before menus.

Running throughout August, residents of Abu Dhabi will be able to travel the world through culinary escapades. Representing Peru and its unique flavors will be COYA Abu Dhabi with a specially curated menu by Chef Pang.

For a price of AED 350, guests will be treated to a choice of one soup; a COYA platter which features an exquisite selection of ceviches and tiraditos; a range of appetizers; a choice of the main dish from the region’s delicacies such as Arroz Nikkei (Chilean sea bass, rice, lime, chilli), Bife Angosto Wagyu (Wagyu sirloin, grade 5, mix spices, chimichurri sauce); Escabeche Peruano   (Chargrilled sea bream in banana leaf,  tamarillo, aji panca, muscatel); and

Langostinos Mediterraneo (Chargrilled prawn, yuzu kusho, chilli) and a choice of one dessert from a platter consisting of Chocolate Fundido (Illanka chocolate fondant, coconut, passion fruit ice cream) and Chicha Morada (Purple corn colada, orange shortbread).

An equally priced vegetarian and gluten-free menu is available for guests with dietary restrictions. The vegetarian menu offers a full selection of gluten free appetizers; a choice of one from the mains including Quinua con Calabaza (Quinoa, pumpkin, ricotta cheese, aji limo) and Papa Seca (Peruvian dried potatoes, mushrooms); and a choice of one dessert from gluten-free Chocolate Fundido (Illanka chocolate fondant, coconut, passion fruit ice cream); Churros de Naranja (Orange and lime churros, milk chocolate and dulce de leche sauce) and Tortell de Nata Maracuya (Passion fruit cremeux, puff pastry, konafah, pistachios).

The Chef’s Table initiative aims to bring the chefs out of the kitchen and onto the restaurant floor, putting the spotlight on their creations and celebrating their unique talent.

COYA Abu Dhabi Celebrates National Peru Day

WHAT A fiesta of all things Peru, COYA Abu Dhabi is set to host the National Peru Day on 28th of July in true Peruvian way – with lots of food, music and of course, Pisco Sours.

 

Paying homage to the Chicha Culture, guests will be able to treat themselves to specials available just for the day.

 

Dishes on the menu that can be ordered throughout the day include: Peruvian Spice Rubbed Lomo Saltado (beef fillet, onions, tomato, shiitake, avocado, quails egg) priced at AED 192 and Lucuma Parfait (Lucuma parfait, sweetcorn and almond, mango caviar, lime) for AED 58.

 

To quench the summer heat, themed cocktails such as Chilcano (COYA Blend Pisco, fresh lime juice, ginger ale, Angostura bitter); Manzanita (Apple Infused Pisco, roasted cinnamon, Tarragon Tincture, fresh lime, ginger ale) and Nikkei Pis-Collins (Pisco, Yuzu Juice, Kalamansi Cordial, Soda Water) will be available for AED 40 each.

Brunch Is Back: COYA Abu Dhabi Relaunches Friday Brunch

WHAT

COYA Abu Dhabi is welcoming its guests back to Friday Brunch starting from 26th June.

A highly delectable affair, the Friday Brunch returns with Peruvian favourites such as Costillas de Res, Pollo a la Parrilla, Arroz Nikkei, and Quinua con Calabaza as mains. Along with the main course, guests will also be offered a COYA platter featuring a selection of Ceviches, Tiraditos and Para Picar; a selection of Tacos and Maki Rolls; a full selection of appetizers including Calamares con Ocopa, Empanadas de Wagyu, Croquetas de Lubina and a selection of Anticuchos. For a sweet ending, a dessert platter including Churros de Naranja, Alfajores, Tortell de Nata Maracuya, Chicha Morada and Ganache de caramel is curated for guests.
