Dai Pai Dong Welcomes The Year Of The Rat With Incredible Dining Experiences

The traditional Chinese calendar enters the Year of the Rat this 2020, and there is no better place to celebrate the occasion than at Dai Pai Dong. From its luxe setting inspired by design elements from the mainland to the abundance of authentic dining experiences, this award-winning restaurant nestled within Rosewood Abu Dhabi is sure to play host to the best Chinese New Year celebrations in the capital.

Dai Pai Dong will be celebrating in spectacular style from January 24th until February 10th, guaranteeing unforgettable culinary treats created by the expert chefs specially for the event.

Celebrations start with the Year of the Hog farewell dinner on January 24th. This hot pot-inspired evening brunch will be served from 6:00 p.m until 11:30 p.m for AED 388, with the option to top up the meal with an unlimited beverage package for AED 100.

Welcome in the Year of the Rat on January 25th with the All-Day Prosperity Feast, featuring top dishes from different parts of China. The brunch is served between 12:00 noon until 11:00 p.m. and for four straight hours from arrival, giving guests the chance to enjoy the feast at a time that suits them.

The impressive brunch includes live stations for soups, duck and chicken specialties and grills, in addition to trolleys that will weave through the venue, serving fresh salads, dim sum varieties and an array of desserts, including the traditional Chinese New Year’s cake.

Options for mains include wok-fried seabass, Gulf prawns and Wagyu beef striploin, as well as steamed mussels with glass noodles in garlic sauce, and vegetables and egg fried rice for sides. The All-Day Prosperity Feast is priced at AED 388 with unlimited soft beverages and AED 488 with free-flowing house beverages and sparkling grape.

Festivities continue in full swing from January 26th until February 10th with a special family-style set menu. Served exclusively at the Dai Pai Dong terrace for a table of maximum eight people, this feast is available for AED 298 per person and includes a complimentary welcome beverage.

The set menu features the customary ‘prosperity toss’ salad or Chinese Yee Sang as well as an assortment of dim sums, such as crispy lobster rice rolls, pumpkin puff and scallop siu mai. This is followed by a selection of home-style soups and barbecue specialties, such as roasted duck and crispy yellow chicken.

For mains, Dai Pai Dong chefs have chosen braised abalone with mushrooms, steamed cod fish with tofu and wok-fried Wagyu beef with black pepper – all available with a side of fried rice. The Dai Pai Dong Chinese New Year dessert platter completes the memorable meal with mango rolls, Hong Kong egg tarts and the customary cake.
