Curry has grown and evolved into a truly global food since its origins in India. This October, Punjab Grill, Abu Dhabi introduces Curry around the World, an exciting culinary journey which explores internationally renowned curries which have been influenced by the Indian subcontinent. The specially curated menu by Executive Chef, Sandeep Ail, features curries from countries including Indonesia, Japan, West Africa, Thailand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Britain, Cambodia and Malaysia.As we celebrate National Curry Month, these exciting dishes will be available at Punjab Grill from Friday 16th October – Friday 13th November.
A few of the dishes on the menu include Japanese Katsu Curry made from panko-crumbled chicken cutlet in Japanese golden curry, Malaysian AyamKapitan, tandoor roasted chicken with aromatic garlic, earthy ginger, and fresh red chili, and Sri Lankan Prawn Curry, fiery prawn and coconut curry infused with bountiful spices from Sri Lanka. Other specials include the Indonesian Beef Rendang, slow-cooked beef coconut curry with fragrant galangal, lemongrass, star anise and cinnamon and the MaldivianMango Tuna Curry, seared Tuna loin served with classic Maldivian sweet and sour mango curry.
Owing to its long relationship with India, Britain has had its own spin on curry since the 18th century. A must-try is the British Chicken Jalfrezi Pie, the classic British pie with tender chicken, peppers, and onions in a sweet and spicy curry or the British Paneer Jalfrezi Pie, classic British pie with fresh paneer, peppers, and onions in a sweet and spicy curry.
The menu also features vegetarian renditions such as Japanese Stuffed Pepper Katsu made from crumbed stuffed bhaaji peppers with Japanese golden curry, introduced to Japan by the British, Malaysian Roast Cauliflower Kapitan, tandoor roasted cauliflower with aromatic garlic, earthy ginger, and fresh red chili, Sri Lankan Veg Curry, the fiery vegetable and coconut curry infused with bountiful spices from Sri Lanka and
